Service Notification: 05/20/13
Buprenorphine detection now available in oral fluid test panel.

Effective May 20, 2013 - Redwood Toxicology Laboratory (RTL) will offer detection of buprenorphine and its metabolite, norbuprenorphine, in oral fluid specimens using the industry's most advanced analytical method, Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC/MS/MS).

All presumptive positive results will be confirmed by this highly sensitive and specific analytical method allowing for very low level detection of buprenorphine in oral fluid. The cutoff for buprenorphine will be 1 ng/mL, and norbuprenorphine at 5 ng/mL.

Quantitative toxicology result reports will now feature buprenorphine and norbuprenorphine and indicate LC/MS/MS as the test procedure.

If you have any questions, please contact Toxicology Support Services at: 800.255.2159, press option 5.
