Synthetic Cannabinoid Drug Test (panel 473) updated free of charge to include 4 new generation compounds: JWH-081, JWH-250, AM-2201, and RCS-4. 11/21/11
Effective November 22, 2011, Redwood Toxicology Laboratory (RTL) expanded the Synthetic Cannabinoid Urine Test (panel 473) to include detection of JWH-081, JWH-250, AM-2201, RCS-4, and their metabolites. The 4 new compounds will be added free of charge to the existing panel currently covering JWH-018 and JWH-073. All 6 compounds will be analyzed and result reporting will indicate the detected drug(s).
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) has already banned five synthetic cannabinoids including JWH-018 and JWH-073 –two common active ingredients ofsynthetic marijuana. First to offer testing for JWH-018 and JWH-073, RTL continues to observe these substances during analysis; however, persistent designer drug chemists attempt to circumvent existing drug laws by developing new products containing compounds with similar chemical structures.
Scientific research at RTL has found that the four additional chemicals have gained prevalence as active ingredients in newer generation synthetic marijuana products, such as Syn, K3 Legal, Haze, Cloud Nine, Mr. Miyagi Zero, Tyranny Green, Warped, and many others. The products contain JWH-081, JWH-250, AM-2201, and RCS-4, either alone or in combination. At this time, these chemicals are not federally regulated, enticing the clandestine drug chemists to include them in their herbal blends for "legal" highs. This makes testing for these newer drugs more vital than ever.
With RTL's expanded 6-compound test panel you will gain greater confidence in designer drug detection.
