Fentanyl in urine to be screened with new enzyme immunoassay (EIA) instrumentation that offers lower cutoff levels.

Beginning August 13, Redwood Toxicology Laboratory will perform fentanyl screens using new EIA instrumentation. This new instrumentation will allow for lower cutoff levels of 1 ng/mL.

No action is required for customers that have been testing for these drugs. Confirmation of presumptive positive specimens will continue to utilize LC-MS/MS.
